Bio: Sophia is West’s cousin. Their mothers are twin sisters that happened to have them on the same day. West is 20 seconds older, but Sophia still treats him like he’s the younger one out of the two of them. It doesn’t help that she’s a little more knowledgeable about the Kingdom of Baronune, growing up in the Royal District, but does let certain details about the kingdom slip her mind. Examples like the status of the king, and the whereabouts of important landmarks like the Safe Houses used to secure people not contending in the Round Table Tournament. She truly cares for West, and can even go toe to toe with his wits and intellect in a game of King’s Men, proving she can be just as cunning as he can be. She’s also a tad stronger and faster than him given his lack of interest in physical activities, but she doesn’t do as well under pressure, and her tendency to rush ahead tends to lead them to trouble. West and Sophia tend to take turns looking out for each other in dire situations. Sophia lives with her mother Janis, and her father, Marcus. She has four siblings, Charles, Rich, Marilyn, and Grace. Also living with them is her Aunt Silvana and Uncle Mathis, as well as, their seven kids. Some are adopted.
The Purpose of the Character: Sophia makes West better. A lot of his reasons for doing what he does throughout the story is to keep her and her family safe. Sophia often acts as West’s voice of reason, being able to strategize much like him, she can rationalize and balance out his ideas in a pinch. This gives her the potential of also being a great leader in the future if she so choses to be, but she spends a lot of her energy making sure West is safe in return.
